Jesus Soto is the founder of Las Americas Tortillerias.  Born in the state of Durango, Mexico, he is the third of seven siblings. He is the father of two daughters and grandfather of five.

In 1972 he and his wife decided to migrate to the United States, seeking a better life for their future children, and got to work making their dreams come true.  Soto started out working in the Longmont Foods processing plant, and from there decided to move to a job where he could learn new things.  He began working as a janitor for the Colorado University campus where he remained for three years.  From there, he moved on to Coors Paper Packaging in Boulder where he worked as a packer inspector.  At that time, he decided to embark on new skills and completed his GED.  With his new knowledge and skills, he started working at Precision Power Systems, where he learned about transformers, inductors, and memory backup systems for big companies.  During this period, he met mentors who inspired him to start his own business; Mr. Bob Agson, Bill Kaewet, and Sue Malone.

In 1997, his journey with Las Americas Tortilleria began.   Jesus and his family opened the first tortilla factory in the state of Colorado, making fresh tortillas that were sold directly to the public. A few years later, in March of 2000, their second store opened in Commerce City.  Since then, other family members have opened stores throughout Colorado, as well as in Kansas and Nebraska, to fulfill the same dream Jesus had for his family.
